Fees at present for each morning session are £15. This includes a healthy varied mid-morning snack. Playgroup fees should be paid at the start of each week.
We are a 'Tax Free Childcare' provider so please check the government website if you are eligible: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/save-up-to-2000-with-tax-free-childcare-in-scotland
Please be aware that fees have to be paid even if your child is absent from Playgroup through illness or holidays taken during term time. This ensures that your child’s place will be kept open for them until they return to Playgroup.
Parents are asked to keep their child at home if they are unwell for at least 24 hours for the sake of themselves and the other children. A child who has had diarrhoea or been vomiting should not attend Playgroup for at least 48 hrs after the last bout to prevent infection spreading. Similarly, a child on medication should stay at home until the course has finished.
Children should wear play clothes! All clothing should be suitable for messy activities and although while we provide aprons, we cannot guarantee clothes are kept clean so please bring a spare bag of clothes.
We continue to follow the regulations of the Care Inspectorate which means that all staff carry out daily observations on the children during all sessions. The observations are designed to record your childs development and the reports are put into individual named folders which are available for discussions with parents.
When your child first comes to Playgroup, you are encouraged to stay with him/her for as many sessions as it takes before he/she settles in and feels confident. The Staff recognises that all children are different - some take longer than others in this process.
The playgroup is registered to enrol up to 26 children aged two to five years old. Places are allocated at the start of the new school year in August. Subsequent places are then offered to children throughout the year as they reach two years old.
Mid morning, all the children are offered to sit down and enjoy a healthy snack. Consisting of items such as yoghurts, oat cakes or crackers. These are usually spread with cream cheese or butter. A variety or fruit is also provided such as chopped apples, grapes, strawberries, blueberries and sultanas.
The latest Care Inspectorate report graded us a '4 - Good'.
The inspectorate felt it had no requirements or recommendations required.
This unannounced inspection was carried out in June 2023.
